Can you please let me know if there is any restriction in terms of proposing to a girl for marriage? In other words can I give a girl an engagement ring?
P.S. Excuse me if I haven’t used any appropriate terminology.

Make clear to the girl before you give her the ring that this is an engagement ring and not in any sense "kiddushin" which the two of you will schedule for the time of your wedding. B'shaa tova!
