Question
I am just wondering; my wife had a C-Section and Baruch Hashem I had my first son. I was informed that I did not need to do a Pidyon Haben; however does my son have the same status when it comes to the Fast for the First born for Pesach?
Answer
The status of first born in regard to fasting does not depend on the requirement of Pidyon. Your son is a Bechor. (See Shulchan Oruch OH 470)
