Question
What is there to do on the day Yitzhak Rabin was murdered? Should we do anything?
Answer
On this day a disaster happened. A Prime minister in Israel was murdered. We should take advantage this day for discussions to connect and to prevent polarization, to promote mutual understanding and the culture of debate while retaining each other’s right to speech and expression.
Unfortunately, instead of a national memorial day of the public, there are groups that still claim ownership of this day and use it to preach to others, to defame communities and individuals, and to silence criticism of the policy errors. Follow the first path above , I have no doubt that it was the will of the deceased.
