The Essence of the Days of Awe
The process of drawing near to the Almighty cannot come about in skips and bounds; rather, it must play itself out step by step: First comes service based upon fear; and then, only afterwards, service deriving from love
Prayer During the Ten Days of Repentance
Some people have certain prayer customs on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur which are not accurate according to Jewish law. All the same, a person should not hastily renounce a custom which has be handed down from generation to generation.
Forgiveness
A must-watch story to inspire your heart this Yom Kippur, revealing how sincere forgiveness opens the way for Hashem to forgive us in return. This moving tale illustrates the power of teshuva, the depth of divine compassion, and how our efforts to seek and grant forgiveness can transform our lives and bring true spiritual renewal.
Teshuva: Don't Expect a One-Shot Deal
Yom Kippur is less than a week away, and for many of us, its approach is cause for unease and disquiet. Precisely during this period of the holy High Holidays, poisonous doubts creep into our thoughts and hearts: "Last year I asked forgiveness for my sins and errors; I prayed from the depth of my heart; I promised myself I would not fall into the same traps – and behold, it didn't work! So what's the point of all my teshuva [commitment to return to one's true inner self]? Will anything be different this Yom Kippur than last time or the time before?"
Yeshiva Website Overcomes Cyberattack
About an hour before Shabbat and again on Saturday night, a hostile actor launched a large-scale cyberattack aimed at disrupting the Yeshiva website. The site’s teams worked tirelessly to maintain normal operations and to strengthen its defenses.

What is the most halachically appropriate way I can keep to this and still fast?
a day of great promise that unfortunately was never realized
Would you kindly tell me what wonderful and good thing happened on the 17th of Tammuz in our history?
Selichot before Shachrit
Is one permitted to say the Selichot of a fast day before Shacharit? As the 17th of Tammus here in Australia is winter and Shacharit starts late in the morning so to save time, it would be great to say selichot before Shacharit.
Flying West on a fast day
"If a person travels from one location to another during a fast day, is he governed by the halachic timeframes (e.g., sunset, nightfall) of the place where he began the fast, or those of the place where he finds himself at the time of conclusion? And what if he has already broken the fast?"

Can I bike on Shabbat?
Is it permitted to use a bicycle on Shabbat, or is it a problem?

Sukkot
Yom Kippur And Succot
At first glance one may think that these two special days stand in stark contradistinction one from the other, and yet there is an underlying theme that binds them together.
The Commandment of Hakel
The whole nation "the men, the women, and the small children, and your stranger who is in your cities" gathers in the Temple.
Dwelling in God's Palace
Early authorities ask: Why does the Torah enjoin us to commemorate the Clouds of Glory of all things. Why not the Manna? Why not Miriam's Well? After all, the presence of these miracles may have been even more important than the Clouds of Glory.
Together in the Sukkah
The mitzvah of joy on Sukkot includes not only family members, but also the poor and lonely. A primer for the holiday.
