To dedicate this lesson
Purim is so called from the word "Pur" – fate. Haman mistakenly thought that reality unfolds by chance; there is no Divine providence, or in other words: do not seek justice because there is no justice in the world. In such a world, it is not a problem to set a random day to exterminate the "Jews" – those who dare to think that there is a direction for life (and thank and acknowledge God for it).

In every generation, there are those who imagine that this world is random, so they are also very afraid of what is happening – three years ago there was the coronavirus pandemic; a year ago, quarrels within the country; this year, the seventh of October – who knows what will happen next year? Such people are generally discouraged and participate in Ahashverosh's banquet of despair because "the State of Israel already lost on October 7th"; they are also very angry, like Haman who is "filled with fury" since reality does not turn out according to his plans – so they are full of bitterness that Hamas and Hezbollah are disrupting their dream of a "new Middle East".

The descendants of Mordechai and Esther despite "sitting at the king's gate", do not pretend to know exactly what will happen; they do their best at the given moment, and are willing to sacrifice whatever it takes. They rejoice on Purim 5784 because they know one thing for sure – that there is a king in this world, and in the end "You have always been Israel's salvation, and their hope in every generation".
