Question
Hospitals today, because of security, require the father of a newborn to wear a name bracelt which states information that will identify him and the only way to take it off is to cut it and it cannot be put on again. On Shabbat may the husband go out into an area with no Eruv with this on, or does he have to cut it off before Shabbat?
Answer
He is permitted to wear this even where there is no Eruv (see Shu"t Chelkat Yaakov Orach Chayyim 96).
