Question
We have a beautiful and expensive set of fine bone china crockery which was our presentation Basari set: it was a wedding present. It has been packed away for many years. Can it be Koshered for Passover use?
Answer
The majority of the halachic authorities hold that it cannot be kashered for Passover. There is a minority opinion who holds that if the family is poor, they can rely on the lenient opinions who allow kashering them after 12 months, by putting them in boiling water 3 times.
