hello. thank you for taking this question. i was wondering why is it considered ok to rely on bitul just because the company isnt aware of the kashrus aspect when producing the product. doesnt the awareness apply to the person who is considering consuming the product? Rabbi Nussbaum
Shlita from the OU seems to take this perspective.
Answer
The bittul is done by the gentile company, not by the consumer, who only receives the product after the bittul is already done.
