Aryeh MinkovStarting a New Chumash
Our great teacher Moshe begins his final oration to the Jewish people in this week's Torah portion.
  • You Can’t Have One Without The Other
The Bikkurim ceremony is about much more than just one farmer’s gratitude for his individual harvest. It is rather a reminder of the centrality of the Land of Israel, and the inalienable connection we have with this specific little corner of the world.
  • Preserve the Torah
Adopting foreign cultures and fads that are temporarily popular and extolled is not the way to fulfillment of our national interest and purpose.
  • Freiers And Forgivers
There is a fine, but crucial line, between being a forgiver and a "freier". Two Mitzvot in Parashat Ki Tetze teach the difference.
  • Our Internal Enemy
In our busy and crowded world, our schedules allow precious little time to think about our true selves - our goals and the purpose of our existence. Ignoring the enemy is the surest way of being defeated by it.
  • Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
The ability to listen is in itself a great bracha; one need look no further. By listening to Hashem, we discipline ourselves into becoming listeners and THAT is its own reward!
  • The Mhan Of Affliction
Will we accentuate the positive, the blessings of here & now that Hashem gives us, without dwelling on what we might be missing? And can we finally learn to see beyond the superficial trappings, to perceive the inner soul & the holiness of the people & the things that surround us?
