Question
Shalom,
I want to know if I have to keep the gas oven on for Yom Tov, is there a way that I can turn it off before YomTov begins and relight it on the second Yom tov night?
Answer
If you turn off the flame before the Chag begins and you want to turn it back on during the chag (not on Shabbat), you may use an already existing flame (be careful not to to put out the flame accidentally) as this person told you.
By the way, relighting the flame can only be done on the second day of Yom Tov and not on the first, since one may not prepare from Yom Tov Rishon to Yom Tov Sheni.
Sorry about the delay.
