Question
What is the source for Kiddush Levana? Is it considered one of the 613 mitzvot?
Answer
The source of Kiddush Levana is in the Talmud Sanhedrin 42. It is not one the 613 Mitzvot. It is a Rabbinical Mitzvah that was instituted in order to help us realize the greatness of Hashem through His wondrous creation.
