Question
Hello, Me and my friends have booked everything to go on a trip for 3 days and it’s going to be my last travel with them. However a week later after booking we realized that it was on the nine days of AV. During the trip there aren’t going to have any activities we are simply going to look around the place, are we allowed to go? My friends parents say they allow the trip to still go however my parents are not sure.
Thank you

On the one hand, this is not really a time that people should plan special recreational activities, which they would not normally plan during the year. On the other hand there is no explicit prohibition on going on a trip during the days, but one is warned do avoid added danger .
The Rema (Orach Chaim 533:2) prohibits trips on the eve of Tisha B’av which seems to indicate that otherwise it is permitted. Though, perhaps trip in his time were not as they are today. Following the opinion of Rav Azarya Ariel in the Hebrew counterpart of this website, to refrain from going on a trip during these days, would be an act of extra piety not a prohibition. See also כי בא מועד pg. 69 who only forbade trips in places of danger.
Since you mentioned that you are not doing any special activities of added pleasure but to increase the friendship among you and your friends, this seems to give further reason to allow such a trip.
