Question
Do I have to put a mezuza on a door that is always closed. It is closed always because behind that door I put a refrigerator so I cannot open the door?
Do I need to put a mezuzah on the cleaning lady’s (not Jewish) room?
Answer
A. If you have a mezuzah you are not allowed to remove it.
If you may change the setting of that room and you might use this door again you must put a mezuzah.
If since you moved in to that house you closed that door with no intention to ever use it again and you have not placed a mezuzah yet, you don’t have to place one. (Pitchei Shearim pp. 186-187)
